Final year undergraduate design project sponsored by Babcock PLC. A two year group study to develop an innovative concept for a re-configurable payload handling and launch system for a military submarine.
The result was a full 3D-CAD assembly of the design supported by FEA, buoyancy, reliability and cost models. The project won the award for the best final year design project prize, and the physical demonstration model is in use by the client.
